No. The 2026-2027 program is a beginner sequence designed to take the absolute beginner to an A1 level (basic user) by the end of the academic year. For students who do not know how to read Greek, a module orients them with reading and pronunciation before they begin their course.

This year, The Greek Academy is focused on helping learners to build a firm and gapless foundation, offering a beginner sequence instead of intermediate or advanced courses. Nonetheless, many heritage speakers or independent learners should consider following the sequence, as it will provide the sort of systematic instruction that often lacks in such learner profiles.

Asynchronous material and guided self-learning require 2-3 hours of study each week, and instructor-led Q&As and conversation sessions are available for 2 hours each week.

Live Office Hours & Conversation meetings are offered for direct learning from the instructor, as well as conversation practice and connection with other students. You are not required to attend these meetings, but it is highly recommended you attend at least one each week. Each meeting is recorded and available for viewing for one week after its occurence.
